Hey Jarett, Came accross your post on lonely planet forum..Me&my husband going to Kho Samui and Panghan at the same time as you. I couldnt post in LP becasue I am not a member but I read somewhere that there is not enough accomodation on Phangan for the FM parties but you can get a boat trip to go from Samui same day and come back to Samui after the party. We will be staying for 3 days on Kho Phangan though nice hotel but bit expensive. May be will meet :-))

Anonymous,

Thanks for the note.

Even though it will be off season, I hear that Pha Ngan may still be difficult for finding accomodation. What I may do is book a place in Samui and then go over to Pha Ngan and double book for one night. Since I'm only traveling for three weeks, my budget could accomodate an extra ten bucks or so if it meant I could crash on the island after the Full Moon Party. But, I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Perhaps we will meet in Samui... always down for a drink.

Thanks again for the feedback.

- Jarrett

Hey Hey,

I don't know if you remember, but last year around this time, you just came back from travelling and you met two belgium girls on the train heading for a visit to CNN. You showed them around and let them take pictures...one includes yourself...that's how I recognized you surfing the web. It was the day that the headlines showed images of hurricane Catherina so it was super interesting seeing CNN@work!!!
Me and my friend were just coming back from a trip through Peru and Chili and we had a day over in Atlanta.
It's amazing that i coicidetally bumped into this page.
After we got home I tried to send you the pictures by mail and wanted to thank you for this amazing visit to Atlanta CNN, but unfortunatly my mails to you kept on returning: delivery failur: postmaster/delivery failure and so on...So I stopt trying.
Just a fw minutes ago I was talking to a friend who's currently in Atlanta and I remembered you...just in case...typed your name in @google and ...tadadadaaaaaaa...lost and found :)
So in case you thougt of this ungrateful belgium girls...we are gratefull and we didn't forget about you
take care and if you feel the need to respond: catkoeta@wildmail.com

Yo Jarrett,

I recall you were interested in the bluegrass music - if you get a chance some friends of mine from Athens are touring around the country with their bluegrass quintet called The Packway Handle Band. Check them out if you get a chance, I think you'd appreciate them.

Hey Jarrett,

looks like you're doing well in tv business...My computer recently crashed and had to look up all blogspots from friends on google. When I came to yours I noticed you even have a Wikipedia site. Did you became such a celeberty in the states or what ;)

Well ... nice to keep in touch from time to time and follow your travels and stuff. Allthough I can't see your podcasts...one or other way it doesn't want to work on my comp. Maybe I should ask a friend to check on it, I'm not a star when it comes to computers :s

Me and my boyfriend recently travelled to Nepal & Tibet. It was amazing. Nepal Annapurna track was ok, but gosh...Tibet...it was overwhelming. The peaks, the local people, the thin air, Potala Palace. Still very authentic but not for long anymore I'm afraid :(

For now there won't be any big travelling for me anymore. Next year(july 2008) I start my intership as M.D. I'm kinda looking forward to it, but at the same time :( hard working lot of weekend watch (don't know if that's the right term in English :s sorry, blush blush, shame on me) and no time for anything but research.

anyway. I added you on facebook...hope you don't mind. It 's an eazy way to keep up with each other. See where oneanother are hanging out.

anyway...have to go.

lots of greetings from Belgium and whenever you're in the neighbourhood...always welkom to stay...I can show you around, not @ the VRT I'm afraid (although there might be some way to arrange that) but something even more interesting will come up... BELGIUM BEER degustation ;)

hang in there and see ya

big kiss

Jarrett,
I saw your latest News of the Absurd... As a fan of all things ridiculous myself, just wanted to thank you for brightening up this gray day in NYC.
Take Care,
Lucy
P.S. Nice blog. I'm considering a solo trip abroad this summer if funds/job will allow. Any tips?

Hi Jarrett,

Russian intersection

1. Pretty old
2. Traffic lights exist and you can even see them working in the night shots.

But who cares, it fits CNN and their thoughts were priceless, thank you!

That animal you show on recent cnn video is http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic-art/661742/68627/

Nycticebus coucang aka Slow Loris.
It was rare & endangered in 2003, probably still is.

On your CNN Daily Distraction segment on dancing 'monkeys', you and your writers need to do your homework. These are apes. Monkeys and apes are not the same. Jesus, do some research!

Did you actually quit???

At 4:06 PM, Blogger Jarrett Bellini said...

Ha. No. I didn't actually quit. There was no Daily Distraction on Tuesday and Wednesday because I was out of town on assignment, and today's hit was killed because of breaking news. Strangely, my potty humor seems not to work when there's sad news.

At 7:43 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Haha ok! Good to know!
